Vertigo is caused by issues within the inner ear. Several conditions can lead to this– Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), which develops as tiny crystals or ‘rocks’ get dislodged and maneuver throughout the inner ear canals. This is usually caused during a rapid movement—looking up quickly after having your head down for quite some time, or rolling over in be too quickly. Our physical therapists aim to cure your symptoms in as little as one session. If your symptoms feel like dizzy spells that come and go for about 20-seconds as your head changes positions, then give us a call now!
Other conditions, such as Ménière’s disease or a vestibular weakness, can cause the sensation of feeling grossly unbalanced. These conditions are not cured in a single session, and physical therapy may be ongoing for quite some time. The patient will have several exercises that will need to be completed at home. Of course, our physical therapists will make sure you are able to perform these safely!
All of these conditions cause the body to become unsteady and give the feeling that the world is spinning or tilted. Let our physical therapists ease your discomfort. Contact us today to schedule your appointment.
