Alexander J. Griffis | Applied Physical Medicine

Dr. Alex Griffis is a born-and-raised Tucson native who graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from the University of Arizona. He was introduced to Physical Therapy from injuries sustained while playing basketball and swimming in high school. He fell in love with the field from his time as a patient, and completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Northern Arizona University at the downtown Phoenix campus. Dr. Griffis’ clinical experiences involved a variety of populations from adult and adolescent athletes, CrossFit and weightlifting athletes, vertigo and vestibular conditions, to geriatrics and balance treatment. His enjoyment of exercise and movement has led him through a variety of sports – swimming, CrossFit, and most recently competing at a national level in Olympic Weightlifting. In his free time, you can find Alex training at Tucson Strength.

His passion is to help relieve your pain, move better, and return to what you love. He plans to accomplish this by using hands-on therapy, specific exercises, and self-management strategies.
